Dating during the months of December and January can be fun since there are a wide range of wintertime activities to engage in.  But for some, this time of year may pose challenges when it comes to dating for different reasons.  Some claim people may take a break from dating during the month of December and January seems to be a popular month for breakups.  Whether or not this is true, it is interesting to review reasons behind such claims and get an idea of what couples can do to keep things interesting during the winter season.

Many people view December as one of the most festive and joyous times of the year with the holidays, gift giving and memorable celebrations.  So, why would rumors circulate about people being more likely to take a break from dating during this month? What about January? You would think many enjoy having that special someone to kiss when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day.  But some experts think there is a trend with couples breaking up during this time of year more often than any other time of year.  Some feel that many couples experience a slow time during their relationship sometime during the fall season but decide to try and work things out because of the holidays.  But on the other hand, many see January as another opportunity to find a new special someone.  There are even online dating conventions that feature unique opportunities for singles to find a date in the month of January.
